Hi, I am from Malaysia. Your garden view from your patio looks beautiful, so different from the ones you find in my country. I suppose the different climate here makes the difference.

Yes, KF, Tung, the climate makes the difference. I've just come back from three weeks in Japan, and their gardens are soooo beautiful. Again, so different. I live in California, where it's dry, (less so than in Colorado) and there's no way we could have an authentic Japanese garden here. So the beauty of the gardens has to fit in with the climate.
Barb, I love the terracing you've done. And, I'm very, very partial to picket fences. What a great idea to tear down the old fence and replace it with that pretty picket fence.
